About Free State Acoustics
Roots in Fireside Music Jams
Free State Acoustics formed at the Porcupine Freedom Festival (PorcFest) in 2023 during evening fireside jams, entertaining Porcupines who stopped by and hung out around the fire upon hearing our live acoustic music. We refined our sound, played shows through 2024 and 2025, and have recorded and published a series of live music videos.

Our Instruments
Free State Acoustics plays an eclectic mix of intense and mellow tunes interpreted our way with acoustic instruments. Key to our sound is the acoustic guitar, classical-style violin, cajon percussion, with strong and sweet contrasting vocals.
Our Music
Free State Acoustics plays our own interpretations of a wide variety of interesting and fun cover songs ranging from Alison Krauss to Radiohead, Fleetwood Mac to John Prine, Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show to The Cranberries. We mix it up a bit with some Hank Williams, Guns N' Roses, Amy Winehouse, and REM.
